In a great place

We stayed Feb 28 three nights. The check in process was just fine. The hotel is Victorian so there will be a few glitches here and there. The first room we had did have a very strong smell. But for other reasons we asked to be moved and they we super nice and very accommodating. The next room given was perfect. I recommend fourth floor facing Octavia street if you want quiet. We had a suite. We did see some great rooms on the Sutter side just not suites

A Great choice

Just the first step past the brass front doors had me feel as if I had stepped out of a time machine and crossed over into the Victoria Era. Couldn't help feeling Queen Victoria herself was holding court back near the rear fireplace. Outstandingly furnished from top to bottom. Excellent detail. Also it's a calm, serene environment, not for the party animal. A great find by the wife! Would definitely stay here again

Excellent value, great location, late 1800s charm

If you like the charm of an old but well-maintained hotel, don't mind the occasional slightly-slanted floors, and enjoy sherry at 4:00, you will be very comfortable at the Queen Anne. We stay whenever we are in San Francisco. Excellent location near Japantown and the Fillmore district. Convenient bus stops, many good restaurants, and, if you like to walk, very easy to get around the city. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are updated to modern standards. The self-serve breakfast has plenty to offer so you can "tank up" for an active morning. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Looking forward to our next visit

Brilliant, especially if you have a baby.

As anyone travelling with a baby knows, it can be stressful and you really do need a room with a separate bedroom so that your baby can nap in peace while you watch TV and relax in the living area. This is really hard to find in San Fran, especially in a good area with a reasonable price. So we were thrilled to find the Queen Anne. It is close to Union Square but not so close that you get the noise. It is beautifully styled with a Victorian England feel. And the staff were all very friendly and helpful. But really, the main thing for us is that they had a cot available and a separate bedroom/living area
