Decked Out for the Holidays

When my wife and I walked through the door we were astounded by the reception and downstairs lounge. Not only was it furnished with antiques from San Francisco past for a real Victorian feel but also festooned with holiday decorations. With two fireplaces blazing merrily away, the Christmas decorations felt that much more homey and inviting. When 4 o'clock arrived the sherry and home made cookies appeared and we settled in for a relaxing evening before heading out for a night on the town. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. The breakfast was of a typical waffle machine and pre-cooked sausage affair in a Victorian styled dining room. Not the greatest yet I have definately experienced way worse. Sure is nice though going downstairs and having breakfast where you are staying. We parked out of the city and took the ferry in. Weekend parking free for 24 hours, no worry about your car having a smash and grab. (an epidemic in San Francisco we have experienced) From the ferry building easy to grab the Number two bus and the bus stop is virtually in front of the hotel. I highly recommend this for a stay in San Francisco

Book direct for the best rate

I just spent a month in the United States staying in six hotels with the Queen Anne my last stop. I got much better hotel rates by not using the hotel booking sites. Emails and phone calls saw much better deals offered. I had stayed at the Queen Anne before way back in 2008 and it was wonderful to return and enjoy all that it offers. It's so nice being away from the downtown area yet still just a stroll down Sutter Street to get to Union Square. There's a substantial breakfast each day and a cute sherry and biscuits afternoon reception in the front lounge area. The free town car service on weekday mornings is an added bonus. My room was well equipped with a mini-fridge and a very comfortable king sized bed. The hotel was able to offer a 1pm check out (usually 12 noon) which meant a late night and a sleep in before a shuttle to the airport for an evening flight to New Zealand. A great stay in a delightful intimate setting

A Taste of Elegance

One is greeted by friendly welcoming staff. I had written them that I would be on an early morning flight and they had our room ready by 10:30! Beautiful Victorian decor, a taste of things past. Older hotel but rooms are clean and fresh. Afternoon Sherry served was a lovely touch. Convenient location. Quick walk to Japantown. Down the hill one way to Van Ness, the other to Fillmor

Nice hotel and good location

Hotel is in a good location and serves a good breakfast (including waffles). There is a liquor store across the street to get essentials if needed. The mattress was okay, but I expected better. Only reason I gave 4/5 rating
